We stayed upstairs in the Nantucket Suite. They were so accommodating because we needed to add an additionsl night so they upgraded our room without a charge. Very private room with fireplace, whirlpool bath and shower, and pet friendly. Wine tasting daily, coffee maker, mini fridge and the most amazing breakfast brought to our room daily. Water bottles, creamers ,fruit and extra coffee pods available 24/7 downstairs. For the woman out there they supplied face wipes, face wet or dry towelettes and a makeup wash cloth. Gas fire place in our room and nice seating area with fire pits on the main deck. Walking distance to downtown. We really needed a relaxing experience and that is definitely what we received. ~ Noelle T

Highly recommend anyone looking for quiet get-away with exceptional service from the minute you arrived until the morning you leave! David is absolutely wonderful. The rooms are quaint and comfortable with a Nantucket vibe. Breakfast was amazing every morning. The back patio is filled with flowers, trees, a water fountain and fire pit which made it a perfect spot to read a book, play a round of cards or sit and enjoy a glass of wine. We felt at home with such personal attention! Not to mention the town is darling and everything was within walking distance including the beach that had a bike path that went on for miles! A perfect place to run, ride a bike or take a stroll enjoying the beautiful beach views! We will definitely return! ~ Diane S

I often travel solo due to my career and choose to stay at locally owned boutique hotels and Bed & Breakfasts. Two locals from Half Moon Bay suggested I stay at the Nantucket Whale Inn. My experience was fantastic from the moment I checked in until I realized I had to go back to work 3 days later:(. The Nantucket is superior! I thoroughly loved my room (Great Point). The huge comfy bed and fireplace were very cool! The claw foot tub! Loved!! The style and decor of this historic home is No.Cal. modern meets east coast traditional seashore comfort. Wow! The beaches and town are only a short walk away! I highly recommend The Nantucket Whale Inn..... Oh and thank you David & Jerry for the Distillery restaurant/Moss Beach recommendation! Lucky us! We had the good fortune to book our stay at the Nantucket Whale Inn during our California trip in July. The Inn exceeded our expectations in every way. The bright, window-filled Light Ship room we stayed in had every amenity imaginable and a wonderfully comfortable King size bed. Breakfast was scrumptious, the evening wine bar was a welcome respite, and the location of the Inn to Half Moon Bay's quaint downtown area with interesting shops and eateries was just perfect. So wish we had booked more nights during our trip. The room rates are quite reasonable given all the Inn has to offer. When we next visit this part of California, the Nantucket Whale Inn will definitely be on our itinerary. Thank you for such a great experience! ~ lp a

I was in the San Francisco Bay area for business earlier this week and decided to come a little early for some rest and relaxation. I stayed at the Nantucket Whale Inn in Half Moon Bay, CA and it was fantastic. The room I had was beautifully appointed and so quiet next to the back patio. From the linens to the bath amenities, everything was first rate. The afternoon wine and cheese served at 4:00pm is a great touch after a long day of travel. And then there was the breakfast in the morning that was 2nd to none. The owners David and Jerry have done such an amazing job at creating a restful environment with no detail overlooked. I can't say enough about this B&B and can't wait to visit again! ~ Mark M

The Nantucket Whale Inn in Half Moon Bay is uniquely modern and was the highlight of our overnights during vacation. We were road tripping from Monterey to Santa Cruz to Half Moon Bay and decided to stay at our favorite place! The Nantucket’s location is within walking distance of the Pacific. It’s in a unique residential and storefront neighborhood a few blocks from downtown. There are a variety of incredible restaurants, my favorite hands down, is Sushi on Main Street. Our room, as always, was simply beautiful, well appointed, cozy, and quiet. I love the beautiful fireplace on a chilly eve as well as the common garden space and fountain. This is a beautiful locally owned inn. The Innkeepers have put great thought and loving care into their property. We love staying @ the Nantucket!! I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Nantucket Whale Inn in Half Moon Bay, and it was a wonderful experience. Located downtown it offers the perfect blend of comfort, hospitality, and location with a great coastal charm. My room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with great amenities. The bed was comfortable, the room was nicely decorated and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The beautiful outdoor patio area is perfect for relaxing with a book or enjoying a cup of coffee. We were immediately struck with all of the flowers growing in the front. Beautiful! We had expected a hotel and not a B&B. We loved having coffee, tea, wine, and bottles of water available at any hour. Breakfast was nice and simple, nice layout on table and plates. So many amenities of home! We had no needs, even if we had forgotten something. I did not love the separate bathroom but we managed. The doors between our rooms were loud, no matter how careful we were with them. The house was quaintly beautiful inside and out. Firepits outside were nice in the morning with our first cup of coffee. We really enjoyed our stay! ~ terry j

From the moment we walked into the Nantucket Whale Inn, we knew we were in for something very special. Our room was appointed beautifully and had an array of conveniences including a whirlpool tub and a very comfortable bed, to name a couple. The breakfast is always superb and different each day. David, the owner, presents a very elegant table and is an excellent chef. David is also very knowledgeable about the area and made excellent recommendations for dinner and things to do! Half Moon Bay is wonderful, but even more wonderful if you stay at the Nantucket Whale Inn. ~ Angela R

Our stay at the Nantucket Whale Inn was amazing! We stayed here for 4 nights. The Inn was immaculate and cozy. The owner was very friendly, made you feel at home, and was very knowledgeable about the area. Definitely take his advice on places to eat and things to do. The breakfast was delicious and always different every morning. Great conversation with the other guests around the breakfast table! To top it off, each wonderful evening wine, cheese and crackers are set out for the guests. We’ll definitely be recommending a stay here to our family & friends. ~ Matthew W

My wife and and I spent our Honeymoon at the Bed and Breakfast Nantucket Whale Inn in Half Moon Bay. The staff was very friendly we mentioned to them we had just got married and they left several wine bottles in the main living room for us to help ourselves. In the living room there was also fruits, a coffee maker, tea bags, board games, and movies. We stayed in the the Nantucket room on the second floor with the hot tub which was amazing. The room was very clean and fully equipped with a bathroom, shower/ hot tub, microwave, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, fireplace/heater, air conditioning, and a TV. We were asked what time we wanted Breakfast in bed by the staff. They brought a wonderful delightful breakfast in the morning at the exact time we mentioned. We were served orange juice, scrambled eggs, sausage, white toast and a bowl of mixed fruits. I would recommend this location to couples who want to stay a nice simple getaway location. My wife and I stayed at the Nantucket Whale Inn to celebrate our wedding anniversary and are so glad that we did. We are North Bay residents and wanted a low-key relaxing getaway and Half Moon Bay certainly fit the bill. While it was a holiday weekend and the weather was beautiful, activity in the heart of downtown was lively, but not overcrowded. Our stay at the NWI couldn't be more perfect. The staff was welcoming and hospitable, the room was spacious, comfortable, spotless and pristine throughout, and the breakfast was served fresh and delicious. Parking on-site or on the street was always available. Shopping and dining were just a short walk away, but far enough to provide lots of peace and quiet. The only time we needed to get in the car was to drive about a mile to the beach to watch the sunset. It's hard to believe this experience is just a short drive away. We really enjoyed our stay, highly recommend the NWI, and will surely be back again. ~ Raymond S

We enjoyed our stay at Nantucket Whale Inn very much. We stayed in the Great Point room on the second floor. The room was comfortable and very pleasant, and I really appreciated both the gas fireplace and the space heater (because December). The claw-footed tub was very grand. We had a couple of minor maintenance issues -- one burned-out light bulb and a loose faucet handle on the sink -- which were both fixed within about 15 minutes of our reporting them! This is a beautiful, quaint B & B in a great area that gives you easy access to drive to the beach or horseback riding. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Beds are very comfortable. In the evening they offer complimentary wine and cookies. The breakfast is also very good. We stayed in the suite. I highly recommend it. Oh, I should have started with the staff: very professional, kind and accommodating. They will take great care of you. I would definitely go back. ~ Melody M

This was my first experience at a B&B, and now a hotel room will never be enough. The atmosphere was one of total relaxation, beautifully appointed room with all the comforts of home. The common areas were so well planned, friendly and inviting. The Inn is centrally located on the coast, close to San Francisco and minutes from the beach. This was our second annual trip to the Nantucket Whale Inn to spend some time in Half Moon Bay before the Thanksgiving holiday--this place is a magical & homey getaway! The owner & staff are delightful, and the quaint bed & breakfast seems to make small upgrades each year to continuously improve! This B&B is one of the loveliest places I've stayed. The sheets and towels were incredibly luxurious, the room was cozy and welcoming, and the owner was kind and gracious. Wine and cheese hour included lots of tasty snacks and the Eggs Benedict breakfast in the morning was incredible! Location is great - downtown with easy access to restaurants and a quick drive to the ocean. Would absolutely stay here again. ~ Ravina S

Absolutely the cutest bed & breakfast ever. So cozy & welcoming. Staff for our check in was amazing giving us a tour of the place and explaining all the amenities. Assured us she was there for us until 6pm her clock out time. So convenient for walking down Main Street and being walking distance for dinner and drinks. We stayed in Great Point room. Great downtown location close to shopping and restaurants. We didn’t drive once during our long weekend visit. We walked everywhere, even to the beach. Delicious breakfast was served each morning. You felt safe in HMB, even walking at night. The close location to downtown and right on Main St made an ideal location. Staff accommodated and welcomed us and our two, small dogs. This little place is a gem. The rooms are clean, quiet and very comfortable. They are exquisitely appointed. The proprietor, David is a wonderful host and goes above and beyond to provide a great experience. His restaurant recommendations were spot on. The decor has a very clean and contemporary look, and the room was very comfortable. The hotel location is great for exploring Half Moon Bay and walking down to the beach. We stayed for a long weekend in the Nantucket Suite. It was quiet, calm, relaxed… Just what I was looking for. The plush king bed was so comfortable, fireplace was cozy and the big jacuzzi tub took it to another level.
